Broom Service, published by Ravensburger, is one of my favorite games. The game has a great social aspect to it, which is something I love in a board game. I’m not big into witches, druids, or the like, but this game is an absolute blast.
Originally I had a different angle in mind for this photo — I was going to shoot from above, as if the witch and broom were coming at the camera. As I set up the scene and camera, I realized that the trees below were not going to show well and that, practically, the moon would not be seen with an angle like that. I took a photo of my original idea and, during that time, thought about the scene from ET when the bike passes in front of the moon. I adjusted the broom and reframed my shot and then took the final photo, which is the image I share.
I submitted five photos to Asociación Cultural Jugamos Tod@s International Boardgame Photography Contest 2017 including ‘Special Delivery,’ which took home top prize.
